AdvoCare Provides Founding Grant for College Football Assistance Fund (CFAF)
Organization dedicated to the support of college football players in need
Carrollton, TX, Jan. 11, 2011 – AdvoCare provides the founding grant to help establish the College Football Assistance Fund (CFAF). CFAF is dedicated to the support of football players who have sustained serious injuries through college football.
The organization was established in 2010 by a group of collegiate coaches and athletic administrators concerned about the limited resources available to injured football players. Assistance will be provided to aid in medical costs for these athletes.
With its strong tie to the athletic community, AdvoCare is proud to be the founding sponsor of the CFAF.
“As we continue to grow and build on our relationships with athletes, coaches and sports medicine professionals, we are honored to help establish this organization to ease the burden of medical cost for these players and their families,” AdvoCare President and CEO Richard Wright said.
There is a defined need for the mission of CFAF. More than twenty thousand college football injuries occur each year. The average medical cost for the most common injury -- knee injury -- is more than $10,000. The costs associated with neck and spinal cord injuries are dramatically more.
“We are very grateful to our good friends at AdvoCare International for providing the founding grant to help establish the CFAF. We are very proud of this association and look forward to working with them on this meaningful endeavor,” said Marques Fitch, Director of Development CFAF.About AdvoCare International, LP
